Visited Martha's Vineyard over the weekend. Man, so many stars...
Solar Eclipse
I didn't have a solar filter, but of course, wanted to photograph the eclipse. What i did have, languishing away in a drawer, was a stack of flash filters I bought years ago. I pulled out the darkest two i could find--one red, one blue, cut 'em up, attached them to a busted UV filter frame, and sandwiched them underneath a polarizing filter. This top image is what I got, a rather pleasant surprise. The bottom image is through cloud cover with a little saturation added. Voila! Eclipse.
5th Avenue
Yup, that's Trump Tower in NYC.
I was just sorta struck by this image--American flag, the towering building, ominous clouds. Makes me a little wary, but hopeful? Troubled, i think, is the word.

Insitu Dance Festival, LIC
This was a site-specific dance performance on the waterfront in Long Island City earlier this month. And I gotta say, I loved every second of it. Felt it was important to get not only the dancers, the feel of their movement, but the environment as well. I mean, it's called In SItu, after all. More to come.
